How to Compress Multiple Videos on Mac

Large video files slow down uploads, reviews, and handoffs. Compressing them individually repeats the same quality decision for every file.

The repetitive part

A delivery folder may be visually ready but unnecessarily heavy for sharing or storage. The challenge is creating smaller copies consistently without rebuilding export settings again and again.

When batch processing helps

Batch compression applies one practical quality preset across a selected group. That makes it useful for review copies, uploads, and storage-focused versions.

Ways to handle the job

Compress in an editor

An editor can create smaller exports, but each file still needs an import and export flow that is larger than the task.

Use FFmpeg scripts

FFmpeg can compress folders, but you are responsible for quality settings, filenames, output locations, and checking failures.

Use BlinkClip visually

BlinkClip turns compression into a visible batch job. Select the videos, choose Compress, choose a preset, and review the smaller output files together.

Step by step

  1. Select the videos

Drag videos into BlinkClip or use Select Videos to choose the files that need the same change.

  2. Choose Compress

Select the Compress action for the batch.

  3. Choose a preset

Pick the practical quality preset that fits how the files will be uploaded, shared, or stored.

  4. Review the batch

Confirm the selected files, start processing, and wait for BlinkClip to finish the repeated job.

  5. Check the results

Open the processed files in Finder and review representative outputs before replacing or sharing originals.

Useful checks

  • Test a short clip before compressing an important delivery.
  • Judge the output on the kind of screen where it will be viewed.
  • Keep high-quality originals when the smaller files are only for review or sharing.

Common questions

Does compression reduce video quality?

Smaller files involve a file-size and quality tradeoff. Use a representative test to choose the right preset for the job.

Can I compress a whole folder?

You can select multiple videos and apply the same compression setup to the batch.
